Job Title: Data Modeler LOCATION: Atlanta, Georgia-HYBRID (NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE) Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta Position Overview Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta is seeking a skilled Data Modeler to design and develop robust OLTP data models for a new Collateral Management System being built from scratch. This role focuses exclusively on data modeling and architectural design for OLTP systems, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance for the application side. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models for transactional systems and must be able to demonstrate expertise in OLTP modeling during the interview process. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance conceptual, logical, and physical data models for OLTP systems. Design data models from scratch, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and business requirements. Create generic data models for use cases such as file processing, document processing, hierarchy models, data auditing, and notifications. Collaborate with database administrators and developers to implement data models in SQL Server and Oracle database systems. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance through optimized database design techniques. Conduct data profiling, analysis, and validation to identify and resolve inconsistencies. Document data models comprehensively, including entity-relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata. Map data sources to target data models for integration and design data transformation processes. Facilitate seamless data migration from legacy systems to new platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and project teams to align data modeling with project goals and timelines. Conduct quality assurance reviews of data models to ensure accuracy and usability. Resolve issues related to performance bottlenecks, data anomalies, and schema conflicts. Qualifications Required Skills: Extensive experience in OLTP data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical models). Proven ability to design data models from scratch for transactional systems. Expertise in SQL Server and Oracle database systems. Experience in creating generic data models for use cases such as file processing, document processing, and hierarchy models. Strong understanding of data integrity, security, and optimization techniques. Proficiency in data profiling, validation, and analysis. Ability to produce clear documentation, including ER diagrams and data dictionaries. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with data integration and transformation processes. Experience in financial or banking systems is a plus. Additional Information Project Context: Building a new Collateral Management System to replace an expiring license. This system will be developed entirely from scratch, with the Data Modeler designing the architecture for data storage. Interview Process: OLTP modeling exercise will be part of the interview. Typically, 12 virtual rounds of interviews. Work Schedule: Onsite 4 days per week at Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta.
