Pay Rate:
$80-85 USD per hour

Preferred:
Local to Houston

Oil & Gas experience is preferredPosition Responsibilities:
Develop Upstream enterprise data products to support business strategies and treat data as an asset.
Collaborate with other Data Architects, IT Platform Architects, SMEs, data engineers, and developers to design data products aligned with enterprise data principles.
Focus on data architecture within the Product Optimization team, working on production volumes and production revenue accounting.Job Requirements:
Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, systems analysis, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years in data design/architecture.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Upstream Oil and Gas Production Optimization, Production Volumes, and Production Revenue Accounting.
Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, Type 2 Dimensional Modelling), data profiling, data quality analysis.
Technical Skills:
Experience with Snowflake, SQL, and E/R Studio data modeling tool.
Knowledge of data governance and master/reference data management programs.
Experience with agile delivery teams.
Experience with Type 2 Dimensional Modelling and large data store technologies (Data Lakes, Data Warehouse, Data Hubs).Preferred Skills:
Experience with tools like TAMR, Collibra, and ER Studio.
Knowledge of JSON, Python, GIT, and API integration.
Familiarity with the TOGAF Framework and DAMA DMBoK v.2.
Leadership experience with the ability to influence without direct authority.Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data models and data flow diagrams in support of the Production Optimization Business Capability.
Collaborate with IT and Data Architects to define architectural standards and contribute to Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
Guide data engineering teams to ensure successful delivery of data products.
Work with governance teams to create and maintain business glossaries and data catalogs.
Ensure solutions support data security, retention, and classification.Key Points:
The role focuses on data design activities like developing data models, data flows, and identifying critical data elements.
Data Architects dont make platform decisions but provide input into decision-making.
They dont design systems of records or prioritize business features but provide technical data architectural requirements.
Advocating for standardization through mentoring, best practices, and solution validation is crucial.
