This role will focus on evaluating and rationalizing the multiple mainframe emulators used across our enterprise for claims processing. The ideal candidate will bring experience with emulators, a strong background in reverse-engineering macros, and the technical expertise to ensure seamless migration to a standardized set of emulators without disrupting business operations. Key Responsibilities Emulator Rationalization: Analyze and evaluate the current suite of emulators used within the enterprise (e.g., Rumba, Pcomm, Reflections, Extra, Extra Extreme). Collaborate with stakeholders to define and standardize the optimal emulator set, reducing usage from 8 to 2-3 emulators. Ensure compatibility and functionality of the selected emulators for claims processing operations. Macro Reverse Engineering: Reverse engineer existing macros (written in VB and integrated with Excel) to understand their functionality and dependencies. Document existing processes and workflows supported by these macros. Develop a strategy to modernize or migrate macros to support the standardized emulator environment. Seamless Migration: Plan and execute the migration process to the new emulator environment with minimal disruption to claims processing operations. Test, validate, and deploy updated macros and emulator configurations. Coordinate with business and technical teams to ensure a smooth transition. Must Haves: Emulator Expertise: Hands-on experience with mainframe emulators like Rumba, Pcomm, Reflections, Extra, or similar tools. Familiarity with emulator features and functionality in enterprise environments. Macro and VB Development: Proficient in Visual Basic (VB) scripting. Experience reverse-engineering and modernizing macros integrated with Excel. Technical Background: Strong understanding of mainframe systems and infrastructure. Ability to bridge the gap between mainframe operations and emulator environments. Nice to Haves: Experience with claims processing systems in a healthcare or insurance environment. Familiarity with Microfocus and/or Rocket Software solutions.
