Technical screen with 2 leads/HM will join as well video 1 round screen Competition/Internal HR: yes Must haves: We need a Mainframe Db2 Subsystem programmer (aka Db2z System DBA). This is a consultant position and job responsibilities are given below. The consultant needs to work during US East Coast business hrs ( typically 8 AM to 5 PM ET) for regular work and some weekends for all upgrades and maintenance activities. He is needing Specific DB2 SYSTEM background This is NOT a DBA NOT creating the tables, but instead will be helping install/upgrade/patch the software. Knowing DBA is a plus. Application DBAs are NOT a fit. Infra or system DB programmer Hard worker/has to be available any time during on call hours This is a backfill for someone who had strong efforts with driving critical projects and did not require any babysitting. This person was confident with running critical upgrade and multiple different projects at once. They have a major IBM Mainframe upgrade this year preparing all the planning. This person will have to have solid knowledge of db2 mainframe cannot teach this. They will be troubleshooting with errors and must know how to access IBM side. On call hours will be once in 3 weeks/on call rotation. Not ALL tools listed below are needed (more than 50%). "If I get this error message, this is what I would do" "How to access IBM site" Position Summary : Senior Db2z Subsystem Programmer will provide support on IBM Mainframes with the following responsibilities and tools support. Experience with Db2z DataSharing group Planning and implementing regular Db2 z/OS RSU maintenance. Planning, testing and implementing Db2 z/OS version upgrades. DB2 subsystem performance tuning such as bufferpools, workfile space, coupling facility structures. Oncall 24 X 7 support during oncall week and weekend support for all maintenance and upgrade activities Quick troubleshooting and problem solving for Db2 Subsystem, DBA and Application issues. Communicating with outside teams to provide guidance on Best Practices for our Db2 environments and Tools. Disaster Recovery planning and testing. Tools installation, upgrades and customization, maintenance and troubleshooting support of the following : IDAA ( Netezza and LinuxOne). lDAA Loader. IIDR (SQL and Queue Replication for DB2 z/OS). Admin Tool and Object Compare. Query Monitor. Db2 Sort. QMF. Log Analysis Tool. Optim. Compuware suite. POCs for replicating data from Mainframe to Cloud and ongoing support of replication tools.
