This is a hands-on administrator role focused on managing and optimizing Cloudera CDP Public Cloud clusters and associated services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cloudera environments, big data tools, and technologies such as NiFi, Kafka, SOLR, HBase, and Knox. This position requires expertise in setting up and maintaining high availability services, monitoring production clusters, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cluster performance. Key Responsibilities: Build and manage Cloudera clusters, including setting up NiFi, SOLR, HBase, Kafka, and Knox on the cloud using CDP Public Cloud v7.2.17 or higher. Configure and ensure high availability for services such as Hue, Hive, HBase REST, SOLR, and IMPALA on the BDPaaS platform. Monitor and troubleshoot the health of services using Cloudera Manager, responding to issues with automated health-check scripts. Write and optimize scripts for monitoring and automation. Perform database operations, access metastore tables, and write Hive and Impala queries using Hue. Collaborate with application development, security, and platform support teams to implement configuration changes for optimal performance. Administer and troubleshoot Kafka, including managing Kafka brokers, Streams API, and integration with IBM MQ. Manage Apache NiFi flow configurations and integrations with Kafka, HBase, and SOLR. Oversee HBase and SOLR administration, including troubleshooting, database management, and query optimization. Required Skills: Strong expertise in Cloudera CDP Public Cloud v7.2.17 or higher. Advanced knowledge of Apache Kafka administration and troubleshooting (Kafka Streams API, KStreams & KTables, offset management). Experience in Apache NiFi administration, flow management, and integrations. Proficiency in HBase and SOLR administration, including high availability, resource management, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, EBS, and EFS. Expertise in scripting for health monitoring and performance tuning. Familiarity with YARN for resource allocation and job scheduling. Proficiency in implementing security policies using Ranger. Additional Desired Skills: Experience designing and implementing big data pipelines and automated data flows using Python/R and NiFi. Familiarity with analytics/ML use cases, cluster migration, and major upgrades. Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark, and Kudu. Ability to troubleshoot Kerberos, TLS/SSL, and other workload-related issues. Experience with governance, data quality, and documentation efforts. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Big Data Administrator. ***Lumen and / or its contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment.
