Richardson, TX (3 days/ week - Hybrid) with HCSC The candidate will have a strong background in PostgreSQL database development, performance tuning, and complex query optimization. As a Senior Postgres Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable database systems, ensuring high performance and availability. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), data modeling, and SQL. Experience with large-scale database systems and distributed database architecture. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals (e.g., indexing, query planning, execution, and performance tuning). Strong experience with advanced SQL, stored procedures, and triggers. Knowledge of database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery techniques. Tools & Technologies: Proficient in PostgreSQL tools (e.g., pgAdmin, psql, etc.) and cloud-based PostgreSQL solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL). Experience with database monitoring tools and performance profiling. Version Control: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems for source code management. Problem Solving & Analytical Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially in complex database environments. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with other relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) is a plus. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Experience in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
