This role will focus on deploying, administering, and enhancing SAS Viya 4 on Kubernetes while ensuring integration with cloud-native services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in managing modern cloud-native analytics (SAS Viya 4 & Kubernetes) deployments & large-scale distributed processing (SAS Grid). Duties & Responsibilities Installation and Configuration: Lead the installation, configuration, and administration of SAS Viya 4 on AWS EKS. Implement and document best practices for deploying and integrating SAS Viya into cloud-native environments. Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration of SAS Viya with AWS Kubernetes infrastructure. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of SAS Viya 4 applications to meet business needs. Implement resource management and scaling strategies for Kubernetes to support SAS Viya. Analyze system performance metrics and apply turning techniques for improved efficiency. Cloud-Native Operations: Administer and maintain SAS Viya environments on AWS Cloud, leveraging core AWS services for optimal performance. Ensure high availability, failover configurations, and disaster recovery setups for SAS Viya 4. Use automation tools to streamline operational tasks like upgrades, patching, and backups in Kubernetes-based SAS Viya deployments. Advance Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex issues related to SAS Viya and Grid components. Troubleshoot installation issues, user issues on daily basis. Review logs and provide diagnostic reports to identify and mitigate system bottlenecks and failures. Continuous Support Operations: Provide day-to-day operation of the SAS platform on AWS cloud, and provide technical support to developers, researchers, and analysts. Participate in on-call rotation for critical issue resolution. Ensure compliance by applying SAS Viya security and governance best practices. Work closely with analytics teams to support SAS developers, researchers, and data scientists. Required qualifications: Masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of SAS Admin experience, with at least 3 years in SAS Viya 4 administration in a Kubernetes environment. Proven success in installing, optimizing, and supporting large-scale SAS Viya deployments. Solid knowledge of AWS Cloud services with hands-on experience optimizing SAS Viya deployments. Proficiency in working with Kubernetes orchestration, containerization, and YAML configurations. Strong experience in Linux-based environments, including scripting with Python, SQL, scripting, YAML, and JSON. Key Competencies: Expertise in scaling and performance tuning for SAS Viya environments. Knowledge of Kubernetes monitoring and optimization tools for SAS workloads. Ability to manage and resolve SAS Viya application issues independently. Experience in utilizing Terraform, Gitlab & AWS CFN for managing Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC). Strong communication skills to support technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-starter with experience handling cloud-native application lifecycles.
