This role involves working closely with network operations, security, and VoIP teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of SBC systems to secure and optimize voice and video traffic for enterprise and service provider clients. Key Responsibilities : VoIP Network Design & Configuration : Implement and configure Ribbon SBC solutions to support VoIP and Unified Communications (UC) applications, ensuring quality, security, and compliance. Troubleshooting & Support : Perform troubleshooting of SBCs, VoIP protocols, SIP signaling, and media issues to identify and resolve operational problems. Integration with UC Solutions : Work with Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams, and other enterprise VoIP and UC solutions to integrate Ribbon SBCs for secure communication. Network Security & Performance Optimization : Ensure that SBCs are configured to handle security, including encryption, DOS protection, and traffic management. Monitor network performance and optimize QoS (Quality of Service). Collaboration & Documentation : Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, security, etc.) to deliver VoIP services. Maintain technical documentation of configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps. : Provide second and third-level support for complex VoIP and SBC issues, including working directly with clients to resolve issues in a timely manner. Upgrades & Patching : Keep SBC systems up-to-date with the latest patches and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime. Required Skills & Qualifications : Technical Experience : In-depth knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP, and RTP protocols. Experience with Ribbon SBC products (e.g., SBC 1000/2000, CE and virtualized SBCs). Familiarity with related networking and security technologies such as firewalls, NAT, VPNs, and DNS. Software & Tools : Proficient in configuring SBCs using Ribbons management interfaces. Familiar with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). Certifications : Preferred certifications in VoIP, networking, or related technologies (e.g., CCNA, SIP, or Ribbon SBC specific certifications). Troubleshooting : Ability to analyze and resolve network and SBC issues in real time. Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Experience : Prior experience working in a telecom or service provider environment. Experience with cloud-based VoIP solutions and SBC virtualized deployments. Knowledge of Unified Communications platforms like Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or similar. Education : A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field is often required, though equivalent practical experience can be considered.
