Job Description/ Responsibilities :

This Container platform engineer position reports to the Strategic Engineering and (Containers as a Service) engineering manager. The primary focus of this role is administering and supporting the OpenShift Container Platform ecosystem for the organization. As a CaaS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing OpenShift in a cloud-native environment, focusing on automating processes to optimize performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by Identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.

Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)

Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.

Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts.

Provides L3 engineering support.

Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.

Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s)

May assist experienced team members with the delegation of workload.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support containerized workloads, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the OpenShift cluster performance, security, and capacity.

Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.

Implement and manage container security practices, including network policies, RBAC, and other security best practices.

Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching of OpenShift clusters and underlying infrastructure.

Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for containerization, microservices, and cloud-native architecture.

Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of services across environments.

Have working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based deployments and configurations along with monitoring and management.
