We have filled this position multiple times over the years. The person to join this team was Alyssa Guglielmetti. She was brought as a jr. level developer. This position is senior level and will help to mentor Alyssa. A big project that this person will be working on will be to consolidate CSS Styles on the website. It will require them to do research to determine what methodology to use. Currently there are 8 pages of style sheets with 2k lines of code on each page. A syntax needs to implement to better organize the styles. Also, down the road Alcoa will be redesigning their website, and this person will provide support designing translating designs from Adobe to the website. Qualified candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with internal customers. It will be important for this person to have confidence in their knowledge to be able to stand on brand and enforce the corporate standards for the website with the customers (Comfortable and experienced providing alternatives if necessary). This position will lead the front-end development and design efforts for Clients external, corporate website. The work involves UI/UX design, client-side development, change activity support for projects and general website updates, documentation, testing, and maintenance activities. Front-end web development using modern techniques, languages, and frameworks HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and responsive design. Modify and create page templates utilizing markup and transformation languages, including XML and XSLT. Collaborate with web development team and business users on user-centered design strategy, as well as translate UX and business requirements into coded solutions. Develop functional front-end code that is cross-browser and multi-device compatible. Create front-end code that is SEO friendly and meets web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior front -end developer and team. Work closely with business users to perform front-end website change activities, including image modifications, layout changes, and page creation in accordance with a defined change management process. Monitor and analyze change requests to ensure alignment with website strategy and direction. Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve front-end website and application problems identified by business users. Execute website deployment and test plans, validating with business users. Effectively work with web development team members to support front-end issue resolution, project work, and website maintenance activities.
