This role will involve establishing data protection policies and working across various teams to ensure compliance and data security within the organization. Key Responsibilities: Execute enterprise data discovery scans and analyze findings to improve data protection. Collaborate with cybersecurity and data governance teams to establish and assess data protection policies. Work with structured and unstructured data sources to establish data classification and governance practices. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA. Translate data analysis into actionable outcomes to enhance the organizations data security posture. Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and escalations to key stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience/training). 2+ years of experience in data discovery and/or data protection (including data loss prevention). Hands-on experience with data discovery/protection tools such as BigID, Securiti, Varonis, and/or MS Purview. Proficiency in data management disciplines like data discovery, data governance, data classification, and data privacy. Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to convert data analysis into actionable business strategies. Key Requirements: Ability to work collaboratively with product teams, data analysts, and data governance teams for cross-functional efforts. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey progress and issues to stakeholders. Self-driven with the ability to manage time and work independently to meet deadlines and expectations.
