Key Responsibilities:

Managing Complex Data Structures:

Working with Databases:

They work with types of databases, specifically Snowflake and PostgreSQL. These databases store large amounts of data, and the developer knows how to organize, access, and manage this data efficiently.

Advanced Database Skills:

The developer writes and manages complex database queries using SQL (Structured Query Language). They need to know how to create, manage, and optimize various database components, such as stored procedures, joins, indexes, and views. These are technical methods to handle, retrieve, and manipulate data.

Handling Specific Datasets:

They work with OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics) datasets and vocabularies, which are standards for healthcare data. Using tools like Atlas, they can explore and analyze this data.

Integrating and Automating Systems:

The role involves setting up integrations using REST services and APIs. Essentially, this means making different software systems communicate and share data efficiently. They use programming languages like Java for this purpose.

Scheduling and Managing Data Workflows:

Collaboration and Code Management:

They work with Azure DevOps, which is a set of development tools for managing code and projects. This includes using Git for version control, managing pull requests, and setting up continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. This ensures that the code is reliable and the development process is streamlined.
