Please mention work authorization and location Job Description - Senior Microsoft SQL Administrator (offshore- India) Atlanta, Georgia (Remote) Department: IT / Database Administration Reports To: IT Manager / Director of IT About the Company: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Microsoft SQL Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases. Position Overview: The Senior Microsoft SQL Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL Server databases. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL Server performance tuning, query optimization, and database architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure database integrity, security, and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities: Database Design and Implementation: o Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases. o Develop and implement database policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Performance Tuning and Optimization: o Perform database performance monitoring and tuning. o Analyze and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations. o Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend improvements. Maintenance and Support: o Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and updates. o Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. o Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions for databases. Security and Compliance: o Implement and manage database security policies. o Ensure databases comply with relevant regulatory and security standards. o Monitor and audit database activities for compliance. Collaboration and Communication: o Work closely with application developers to design optimal database solutions. o Provide guidance and support to junior database administrators. o Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding database performance and issues. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator. Proven experience in SQL Server performance tuning and optimization. Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and query optimization techniques. Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting for database management. Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification. Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database). Familiarity with database management tools and monitoring solutions. Experience in automating database management tasks.
