The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for complex projects. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include: Guiding the technical design for modernization of legacy systems. Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups. Making changes in multiple systems in real time to enable changes requested by user group. Implementing technical solutions. Developing tax processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems. Supporting production tasks including analysis of issue, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution. Coordinating with development team on development activities and integration testing. Developing technical design documents and program specifications. Guiding requirements gathering sessions. Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work. Coding, and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments. Writing and tuning SQL Supporting user testing efforts. Performance tune new and existing applications. Mentoring less experienced staff. Software Architect: NYS Tax Modernization program Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system. Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field. 84 months experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP, XML, JSON. 84 months experience with Java programming in an eclipse based development environment. 48 months of Java Spring Boot experience. 24 months experience in kubernetes and docker container image platforms. 60 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with both relational and document databases. 60 months of experience in IBM MQSeries or Apache Kafka. 60 months experience with an organization which includes technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complex system. 84 months of experience in system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems.
