There are multiple systems that require technical support and research for the purpose of maintaining security and minimizing equipment downtime. Continued improvements of system performance and ease of maintainability are desired. FDLE requires the services of one Systems Administrator for HQ Distributed Computer Systems Administration. The Systems Administrator will work under the direction of the FDLEs Data Processing Manager(s) to achieve the goals and objectives of the projects stated below. Description of Services & Deliverables The person in this function will be responsible for 2nd tier desktop support. Which will require technical support, research of technologies and methods for meeting the functional and nonfunctional requirements. Provides Tier-2 support assisting IT staff around the state with in-depth technical support and troubleshooting advanced problems. The person in this function will have a high level of hardware and software. Communicates technical issues, to both a nontechnical and technical audience, with excellent customer service skills. Develops and maintains project documentation such as: infrastructure diagrams, installation documentation, upgrade assessments, and knowledge-based articles. Designs and implements documentation on all desktop projects, including best practices. Ability to train 2nd tier members of all projects expects, Sentinelone, WSUS, Trellix, Policy, MDT, Tanium. Supports Microsoft 365 products such as Office 365 Apps and Services, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. Windows 11, future version of OS, and Server OS. Demonstrates attention to detail and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted during course of work. Systems Administrator responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following: Functions as a technical consultant or researcher. Technical research and evaluation of technologies, tools, etc. Analysis of detailed requirements and documentation. Programming and implementing solutions for business requirements. Contributor on project planning, organization, implementation. Act as the primary technical expert in the Microsoft domain. Offer guidance to the IT management team on current and emerging Microsoft 365 technologies. Provide expertise and lead significant service migrations to Microsoft 365. Creates a comprehensive security plan to implement leveraging services such as Windows Defender, Data Loss Prevention, and Advanced Threat Protection. Educational / Experience Requirements Minimum Education / Experience: Degree, Date of Graduation / Equivalent Experience University / School Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience; Preferred Education / Experience: Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience Mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Years of Experience Year Skill Last Used Minimum of 5 years of experience as a systems administration on successful, enterprise level information technology projects. Must have the ability to work independently or cooperatively with other software developers. The person in this function is considered an expert in the following systems KACE, Symantec, WSUS, and Office 365. Must have an understanding of business, business insight and broad understanding of multiple business areas. The person in this function will be responsible for technical research of technologies and methods for meeting the functional and nonfunctional requirements. Knowledge of problem-solving techniques. Knowledge of computers and software. Knowledge of Windows 11. Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of computer programming and/or computer systems analysis. Ability to process information logically and solve problems. Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed computer systems components. Ability to identify and define user task needs. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
