As a GIS Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining GIS databases to support spatial data management and analysis activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), database design, and spatial data management. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of Esri GIS Products o ArcGIS Pro o ArcGIS Enterprise o ArcGIS Online o ArcGIS SDE GIS Database Design Data Modeling Data Integrations GIS Databases Architecture and Management Designs databases that leverage GIS[1]only data types networks, topology, relationship classes, utility networks, etc. Designs database to include ArcGIS[1]native organizational configurations domains, subtypes, etc Designs data and databases following GIS data standards Manages ArcGIS SDE Deploys and manages ArcGIS data versioning and branching Manages granting and revoking data permissions SQL Database management through SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio Script SQL queries and spatial data Python Database management and automations via Python scripting Knowledge Python modules arcpy, arcgis, pyodbc, pandas, sqlalchemy Documentation Authors, curates, and ensures efficient documentation and metadata for GIS end users Designs and authors relational database whiteboards Specific responsibilities include: Designing, implementing, and maintaining the GIS data environment for enterprise data. Redesigning and optimizing existing GIS databases Creating, implementing, and documenting data standards Managing Esri ArcGIS Enterprise GIS Databases within the SQL Server environment. Develop data models and database schemas to support spatial data analysis and visualization. Optimize database performance for spatial queries and data processing tasks. Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design appropriate database solutions. Perform data quality assurance and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency of spatial data.
