Our client, a large luxury goods retailer, is looking to hire a Platform Engineer for a 6-month contract to hire position. The consultant will work remotely and will be serving as staff augmentation for bandwidth and skillset gaps on the Platform Engineering team. The team is responsible for building and maintaining tools that enable developers to self-serve their Infrastructure as Code (IaC) needs. The Platform Engineering team supports application teams and various projects by developing solutions that enhance their work. This role will focus on creating and maintaining advanced automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and productivity. The consultant will be expected to both build/code as well as provide operational engineering support. Part of the role is replatforming Linux and Windows servers as well as working with EC2 and RDS. The consultant will design, develop, and optimize advanced automation solutions using IaC methodologies such as AWS CDK and Terraform. The consultant will build and maintain a CDK common construct library and reusable CI/CD workflows for GitHub Actions pipelines. The consultant will also develop AWS account factory provisioning and teardown solutions. The engineer will also deploy automation solutions to production environments, ensuring their scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Required Skills: Strong background in scripting, cloud services, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code Strong understanding of Linux systems Experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced automation solutions using IaC methodologies with AWS CDK and Terraform. Ability to build and maintain a CDK common construct library and reusable CI/CD workflows for GitHub Actions pipelines Experience developing AWS account factory provisioning and teardown solutions. Experience with EC2 and RDS for AWS Experience deploying automation solutions to production environments Experience building and maintaining scripts using languages like Python, TypeScript, PowerShell, Bash, .NET, JavaScript, and Java. (Python and Bash are required for scripting the rest are a plus) Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions to automate application builds, deployments, tests, and security measures Desired Skills: Experience with CMDB and observability tools, specifically Dynatrace and JSM Assets, is a plus.
