As a Senior SQL DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our multi-instance servers, active clustering, and SQL database integration across the organization. Responsibilities: Database Indexing and Tuning: Design and implement efficient database indexing strategies to enhance query performance and optimize data retrieval. Regularly monitor and fine-tune database performance to achieve optimal response times. Performance Tuning Settings: Analyze and adjust SQL Server configurations and settings to optimize overall database performance and ensure efficient resource utilization. Scheduled Maintenance Tasks: Develop and execute scheduled maintenance tasks, including database backups, integrity checks, and index maintenance, to ensure data integrity and high availability. Data Warehouse Design: Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to design and implement a robust and scalable data warehouse solution that meets the organization's analytical and reporting needs. NoSQL Technology experience: Demonstrate knowledge in NoSQL type technologies, providing valuable insights into their integration and usage within the SQL environment where appropriate. Database Environment Management: Take ownership of the SQL environment, ensuring its smooth operation, security, and compliance with industry standards and best practices. Network Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with network engineers and other IT teams to design and recommend infrastructure improvements and optimizations for enhanced database performance and reliability. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity problems efficiently and effectively. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures for ease of knowledge sharing and team collaboration. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies and propose innovative solutions for enhancing the SQL environment. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator, with at least 5 years working in a similar senior role. Strong expertise in database indexing, tuning, and performance optimization techniques. Solid experience with SQL Server clustering, multi-instance setups, and database integration. Proficient in designing and implementing data warehouses for analytical and reporting purposes. Knowledge of NoSQL type technologies and their integration with SQL environments. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex database-related issues efficiently. Familiarity with network engineering principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with network engineers. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
