This is a PROACTIVE requisition Job Description Description: Design, engineer, and manage the organization's z/VM and zLinux ]infrastructure and operational platforms Design, implement and enable IaaS and PaaS services for the Optum business community Must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to: Develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios Resolve cross-system and domain dependencies Ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer Ensure efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems Understand the interactions between systems, the applications and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio Required skills: Manage the z/VM and zLinux infrastructure/operational platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents Design and build solutions to support business systems Analyze, Design, Build, and implement the migration from the z/VM and zLinux platform to the LinuxOne KVM platform Serve as a recognized expert in the following areas - Provide guidance, troubleshooting and answers complex questions related to these areas: Scope, Size & Complexity of work along with the identification of blast radius/ impact Infrastructure Platform Management: Apply understanding of infrastructure/operational platform to support/optimize business applications/systems Ensure platform performance/availability Write, debug and test automation code Engineer foundational components for IaaS & PaaS Design and engineer infrastructure systems in support of the business systems Serve as a recognized expert in the following areas Engineering Principles Design, build, test and adapt solutions that optimize environment and meet evolving needs of customers and business, leveraging and anticipating modern technologies Support continuous integration; continuous delivery environment (CICD) Focus on customer and desired business outcomes in the design and build of solutions Consider security, scalability, reliability & feasibility in solution design Consider integrations and impacts on other systems in deployment of solutions Continually seek out opportunities to automate solutions Write, debug, test and deploy code to create working solution Technology Acumen: Seek out and apply the standards, concepts & functionality of all technology/systems between technologies Possess breadth of knowledge spanning all bodies of technologies, e.g., databases, middleware, OS, etc. Consider interdependencies of various technologies in analyses and solutions Research industry trends and impact on function/business Analytical Interpret meaning through the identification and study of patterns Gather facts/data to inform decision making Identify cause and effect relationships between known variables Identify applicable information to inform analysis Conduct thorough examination of relevant data Identify and evaluate varying perspectives Interpret information and draw conclusions Troubleshooting Apply a systematic approach to confirm, identify and resolve system issues Confirm presenting issue Apply problem-solving techniques to isolate root-cause Identify and verify workable solution Quality Management Understand and incorporates quality principles to ensure optimal performance, impact and experience Follow quality control guidelines & practices Balance business impact, user experience and performance in development of system designs and solutions Continually seek opportunities to improve solutions, processes and performance Thanks & Regards, Vikrama Rao Recruitment Executive- ValiantIQ Inc .
