Title: Senior Storage Systems Engineer Location: Remote (Reston VA) Duration- 6+ months C2H Visa- USC,GC (Only Local to DMV area) Remote + report back to onsite within 30 days notice once called (No date Fixed) Required Skills - 5+ years of storage engineering and management experience, building, supporting, and troubleshooting distributed storage solutions in mission-critical environments. Demonstrated experience implementing storage and replication across multiple sites. Analysis of performance and configuration across a range of storage vendor solutions. - 5+ years as an integral leader of backup/recovery archiving methodologies and systems, including Data Domain, Spectrum Protect and business continuity concepts. - Spectrum Protect server management experience (AIX/Linux) to include software (server/client) upgrades and installation, server migrations, server to server communication, storage pool migration, client troubleshooting, data center migrations - Spectrum Protect experience including day to day operations, managing daily backups, administrative schedules, management classes, retention polices, storage pools, reclamation, virtual tape - Knowledge of Systems Engineering in the planning, design, and implementation of high availability UNIX/LINUX open systems. - Advanced knowledge of Brocade/Fibre channel and clustering technologies. Intermediate understanding of networks. - Specialized skills: Full knowledge and experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise and mid-tier class storage arrays utilizing compression and encryption with SAN, virtualized, and Flash Storage environments . - Familiarity with software including AIX, Linux, NFS, and HTTP. IBM Storage, Pure Storage, VMWare ESXi,, Site recovery Manager and SAN copy. - Knowledge of and experience in managing DR environment/configuration projects. - Experience in the development, testing, and execution of DR plans with IBM-s Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and SVC Global Mirror with Change Volumes in order to verify functionality, timeliness, and accuracy of recovery processes and procedures. - User acceptance testing and application verification to meet SLA/RPO/RTO objectives. - Operational support in the planning, design, replication, and synchronization of secure, high-availability systems and applications. - Demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure-related projects including installation of hardware and software solutions (distributed servers, storage, middleware, and networking) Preferred: - Health Care Industry experience, including HIPAA, PII, PHI, encryption - Prior experience as Sr. Systems Engineer for multiple infrastructure projects that include both internal, external, and vendor resources. - Prior experience with initiating, tracking, and, when required, working with Procurement teams on infrastructure-related procurements - Good understanding of data warehouse and analytics - Experience managing storage configuration and LUN layout in SAN devices. - Advanced knowledge of network components (switches, routers, port configurations). - Experience in creating Operations Plan of Action (POAs) for all major environment implementations that include detailed steps and activities with identified ownership and execution timing. - Experience in ensuring that appropriate project communication occurs on an on-going basis with internal and external stakeholders.
