Job Description Please mention visa and location Lead SQL/Snowflake Developer 6 months Sacramento, CA Onsite Phone/Skype Responsibilities: The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) seeks a full-time experienced consultant resource to lead a team of developers in enhancing liquidity management capabilities through the development and deployment of a Liquidity Dashboard. The selected consultant will be directly responsible for: Overseeing a team of external developers, ensuring efficient and effective workflow. Direct development in SQL (Snowflake), Python, Power BI, DBT, Prefect. This includes code writing, testing, and deployment, ensuring compliance with requirements. Assisting in crafting and enforcing coding and testing best practices. Ensuring solution quality through code reviews, thorough testing, and adherence to established best practices. Assisting team members with coding, DevOps, version control (git), and build issues. Developing and enforcing a release schedule. Collaborating with the DevOps Architect to ensure successful builds. Ensuring the development team meets deadlines and builds solutions aligned with target architecture, thoroughly tested and meeting requirements. Following agreed-upon coding conventions (SQL Fluff, Python Linting, etc.). Additionally, the consultant will provide knowledge transfer to personnel in the Investment Technology Management Unit related to this engagement, ensuring staff can operate and troubleshoot the liquidity dashboard independently. Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years or more leading a team of software developers in a scrum environment using SQL (Oracle or SQL Server with Preference for Snowflake), Python. Five (5) years of demonstrated experience overseeing agile projects, including creating project roadmaps, writing technical features and user stories, and ensuring timely completion. Five (5) years of demonstrated experience with Snowflake, SQL, Python, GitHub, Git.
