Role :  Project Manager

Location- Remote

Contract: Long Term

You must have computer, cell phone, and reliable high-speed internet.

What skills are needed to be successful in this role

Strong project management skills required.

Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, record keeping, and oral and written

communication skills.

Ability to work with external consultants and manage resources effectively.

Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes.

Ability to problem solve independently by diagnosing problems, gathering requirements for

resolution, and engaging the right stakeholders to determine solutions.

Ability to collaborate cross functionally with various employees.

Prior experience in government is beneficial, but not required.

Familiarity with and experience leveraging Agile best practices required.

SharePoint O365 proficiency required.

Jira experience preferred.

Day to day work will include, but not be limited to:

Support both internal and external stakeholder engagement, with a focus on requirements

documentation and supporting the conversion of stakeholder feedback to use cases and features.

Participate in Sprint Planning and Sprint Reviews to ensure the prioritization and completion of

the high value use cases and features that appropriately meet all stakeholder requirements.

Participate in rigorous user acceptance testing, documenting, and reporting bugs, data gaps, or

other deficiencies to the development team as required.

Support contractor oversight and the creation of work plans, project schedules, program status

reports, and supporting documentation.

Support internal administrative processes and management of the Utility Coordination Group.

Spot resolve, and / or escalate issues to program manager in a timely manner and assist with the

upkeep of the program risk register.

Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge:

Has well developed understanding of relevant technical principles and their application to a

program area. Develops/formulates Deployment issues, problems and needs in at least one

technical area. Has acknowledged expertise at conceptual level of technical skills and knowledge

in at least one program area. Understands State energy/environmental economic development

issues.

Creativity in Project & Program Development

Has developed and managed projects with little specific direction. Develops new projects and co-

funding sources with own initiative. Carried out development of several projects through

competitive solicitation phase that may or may not result from own initiative. Has provided ideas

and rationale for program development in at least one technical area.

Organization Skills & Productivity:

Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability

to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Can prioritize workload with

other responsibilities. Effectively discharges general technical and project management

assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates strategic thinking connected to the organizations

goals.

Leadership / Interpersonal Relations / Judgement:

Has demonstrated ability to effectively head working groups or program teams. Provides

guidance to junior staff when appropriate and can supervise the day-to-day work of interns. Has

full confidence of peers and superiors. People skills have developed to show leadership and an

ability to motivate others.

Communication Skills & External Relations:

Has demonstrated the ability to produce both written material and verbal presentations that are

direct, recognize and focus on issues, are both comprehensive and concise and require editing

only in most sensitive and complex areas. Can negotiate effectively with contractors and interface

effectively with customers and other outside contacts. Has demonstrated ability to prepare and

present papers at professional meetings, seminars, and conferences.
