The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and confidentiality of our organization's data stored in Azure environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing security solutions to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access. Key Responsibilities: Azure Data Security: Implement and manage robust security measures to safeguard data stored in Azure environments, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and other Azure services. Threat Detection and Monitoring: Develop and implement advanced threat detection mechanisms to identify and respond to potential security incidents. Monitor Azure resources for unusual activities and security breaches. Identity and Access Management: Configure and manage Azure Active Directory (AAD) to enforce proper access controls and permissions. Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure least privilege access. Encryption and Masking: Implement data encryption and masking techniques to protect sensitive information at rest and in transit. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards. Security Auditing and Compliance: Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks. Address any identified vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security policies and standards. Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans. Actively participate in security incident response activities, investigate security incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues. Security Automation: Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline security processes and enhance efficiency. Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve the overall security posture. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, administrators, and developers, to embed security best practices into the data lifecycle. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a Data Security Engineer with a focus on Azure environments. In-depth knowledge of Azure security features and services. Hands-on experience with Azure Key Vault, Azure AD, Azure Policy, and other relevant Azure security tools. Strong understanding of data encryption, masking, and tokenization techniques. Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations. Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate is a plus. Skills and Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks. Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a high level of data integrity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
