Location San Jose CA hybrid

Description:

The Applications Systems Engineer, MFT (Managed File Transfer) coordinates and ensures the successful implementation and support of applications, proactively identifying and troubleshooting performance issues and functionality gaps.

Here's what you can expect from the job and what you need to be successful:

Job Duties

Implement, perform maintenance activities and support applications to optimize system performance and functionality
Build, Manage and Administer the Enterprises Managed File Transfer (MFT) Applications and Technologies
Handle and resolve user issues, troubleshoot applications in collaboration with support groups and assist in performing root cause analysis to identify solutions
Handle escalated user issues, as required
Administer testing and security controls based on infrastructure and application requirements, technical specifications and/or change control requests
Monitor and analyze IT metrics and use data to make process improvement recommendations, and implement as appropriate
Lead in the design, development, review and maintenance of clear and easily understood application and process documentation consistent with department standards
As required, respond to after-hours escalated issues within SLAs

Essential Skills

Minimum 3 years experience in IT administration; support of on-premise and/or cloud-based services and applications
Deep knowledge of File Transfer Protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, FTPS) is essential
Experience in managing and troubleshooting a Secure File Transfer Suite (preferably Axway Cloud or On Premise Enterprise)
Experience with the administration of File Encryption Technologies (PGP, GPG etc) and other methods of protecting data in transit preferred
Ability to perform root cause analysis and network performance tuning
Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple business units, leadership and vendors to achieve organizational goals
Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
Ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Familiarity with SCRUM as a development method for Agile is preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Minimum Education:Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related fields is preferred or equivalent work experience
Certification/License: ITIL certification is preferred
