BNSF is looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) contractor for staff augmentation purposes to help manage its Marklogic environment. The position will be responsible for on-going administration of existing environments including defining, planning, implementing, and supporting BNSFs physical Marklogic databases for the enterprise. Candidate should possess extensive knowledge of all aspects of Marklogic including monitoring and performance tuning. Qualifications Strong technical knowledge on Marklogic Experience in NoSQL Databases such as Mark Logic Exceptional problem-solving skills - Performance analysis and optimization, especially in a relational query context Database engine implementation - including indexes and compression Upgrade & migration of Marklogic infrastructure Experience: 5-10 years Good communication skills (both verbal and written) Should be Self-motivated, team oriented, able to work in a team environment and able to operate with minimal supervision Knowledge of writing query/ procedure in SQL Excellent customer communication and Ability to manage challenging customer delivery and tight deadlines Should be Experience with Linux operating systems JSON, XML, and related technologies Work experience with any cloud Responsibilities Troubleshoot all Database / Application Incident Tickets Troubleshoot DB performance issues Installing, Configuring, Patching and Upgrading database and software Will be on call once or maybe twice a month for a week. Marklogic certification would help. Will be supporting multiple databases, including Marklogic. No degree required. 1 technical interview. Position will be long term, like 3 years or so. 5+ years experience is preferred. Open to candidates who may need to relocate but if they are willing to relocate they will be considered :) Plan to interview quickly.
