Position: SQL DBA Work Location : Boston, MA ( LOCALS OR NEARBY TO MA) Required Work Authorization: USC, GC Project Duration: Long Term Project Brief Description of Accountabilities: Monitor database performance, identifying problems that arise and implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users. Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses. Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss. Liaise with senior IT department personnel on various issues. Liaise with external consultants/Contractors. Project Management. Troubleshooting problems with Business Analyst, Server admin & Network admin. Involve in Application installation. Adherence to documentation requirements. Experience and Qualifications: Microsoft SQL Expertise. (Need to be Level 2 DBA moving towards Level 3). Other SQL Database Administration. Oracle Database Experience. Competencies: Good interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
