Role: Sr. Oracle DBA Location: Onsite Los Angeles, California (Local Only) Duration: 6+ Months MOI: Phone/WebEx Visa: USC, GC -Candidate must already be in or near the Los Angeles, CA area. Client will not consider relocation candidates. Minimum Qualifications: The proposed candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design, development, modification, improvement, and implementation of Oracle relational database management systems that includes access methods, definition languages, and remote access software in an installation utilizing third-generation systems that support batch, remote access, database, and real time applications. The proposed candidate must possess 8 years of experience with Oracle databases on both physical and logical servers, data security, development of plans for the conversion of existing physical servers to virtual servers, database recovery and backup techniques, and optimized processing techniques also is required. Experience in implementation of full version oracle database upgrade (i.e. 12c to 19c) a minimum of 2 times within the last 8 years. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Extensive background in providing comprehensive support for Oracle 19c databases. Proven experience in executing successful upgrades of Oracle databases to version 19c or higher. (12c to 19c upgrade experience preferred) Proficiency in replicating and/or migrating Oracle databases to the Cloud (preference for onpremise to VMwares Cloud Disaster Recovery (VCDR) environment. Skilled in providing adept database and application connectivity in support for Testing of applications both on-premise and in the VCDR environment. Experience in providing guidance and assistance during integrated run-for-record and other exercises. Adept understanding of business and educational data processing applications. Proficiency in various higher-level programming languages, including but not limited to MS SQL, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python. Comprehensive knowledge of Cloud-based Infrastructure architecture, preference or VMware on AWS also including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Services Understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and other related cloud technologies. Extensive experience in Hybrid-cloud, cloud migrations, and database migrations. Advanced knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery methodologies and technologies (familiarity with Google Actifio is a plus). Proficiency in performance tuning methodologies and technologies. Understanding of Oracle Clustered Database Configurations (Oracle RAC) as well as SQL SERVER Failover Cluster Manager (FCM), SQL SERVER Always on Understanding of Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for replicating data bases, the difference between the products, ability to select the more appropriate tool Thorough understanding of the principles and techniques of database administration and programming.
