Please note that this position allows for remote work Required Skills Ability to work effectively as a team lead; collaboration and leadership skills are key 3 plus years of experience in system integration, designing, building, and administering hyperconverged environments, disaster recovery, data protection solutions, and troubleshooting Networking and security within a hyperconverged environment, including SAN and NAS protocols VMware VCP certification and related skill sets including vSphere/ESXi, vSAN, Site Recovery Manager (SRM) NSX Experience Knowledge of Dell EMC VxRail infrastructure solutions and their related technologies, i.e.: HCI, and HCI based appliances. Current experience with Dell VxRail backup technologies, i.e., Dell EMC Integrated Data Protection (IDP) software, i.e., EMC Data Domain and Avamar; and hardware, i.e., IDPA Cloud architecture experience Proficiency with identity management platforms and protocols including AD DS, AzureAD (Entra ID), LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, and SSO Highly Desired/ Preferred Skills Current Juniper Network technologies experience a PLUS Responsibilities Implement solutions based on current industry standards and best practices. Install, configure, manage, and administer Dell VxRail and related technologies. Install, manage, and administer VMware ESX, vSphere, NSX, and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) Install, configure, and manage hyperconverged technologies and environments. Troubleshoot storage, network, and compute issues through to problem resolution. Engineer new hyperconverged/software defined storage solutions to meet the enterprise standards and requirements. Adhere to established processes related to Change/Problem/Incident Management Perform regular security assessments and remediations on infrastructure for identified vulnerabilities or exploits Support and assist platform engineers to effectively oversee installation, configuration, and management of all VxRail HyperConverged hardware assets, within a framework of industry standards, ITIL and AGILE best practices and strategic IT principles and policy guidelines. Troubleshoot and resolve critical convergence issues across Police Department environments and the enterprise data center. This individual is expected to take proactive steps to manage capacity and performance across VMware systems, and to develop and document systems and their support models, and to develop a comprehensive backup model for all applications, systems, and programs housed within the environment. He/she also must be able to provide technical subject matter expertise, be able to understand complex VxRail and VMware issues and provide clear solutions. In addition, he/she is expected to adhere to change/problem and incident management processes, and to transfer knowledge to the existing platform engineering staff.
