SDET - 12 month contract to hire -

Onsite Hybrid(2 days in 3 days out) in St Louis, Missouri.

MasterCard  Must sit onsite in St Louis, Missouri from day one.

USC, GC only

True SDET that is comfortable coding in Java. Candidates that only use Java within Selenium will not be reached out to. I know they use Selenium, but this is not an Automation Engineer role and I dont want to waste either of our time speaking to Automation Selenium heavy candidates, unless they have previous coding background.

Job Description:

SDETs:

Hybrid Dev and SDET is the best

If a pure tester candidate: Need solid Java coding skills

Spring is not required for SDETs

Coding Skills:

Need to be able to write a program, call a service, and connect to databases.

Interview:

Mastercard will dig into their conceptual ability. This is where most people struggle in the interview. Some resources have trouble understanding what they are testing for. For example, some people can be given a set of tests to run and can deliver results to the team. This isntenough. Debugging is also an area they will interview on. Why did the test fail Candidates should be able to go into the test logs and application logs to identify where the code failed and understand where the bug happened. This is more expected on the SR SDET.

Things they will need to do to achieve this: Edge testing, regression testing, unit testing.

Also most candidates have UI testing EXP but backend testing is where MDES needs knowledge and a lot of candidates struggle here.

Any Database and Queries EXP is a big plus, not necessarily Oracle EXP is needed but understanding databases is a big plus.
